Budgets

The Budget Order contains the state’s certification of the approved budget for the county, the certified net assessed value, the tax rate and the levy for each fund of each taxing unit within the county. You can also find the tax rate for each taxing unit.
Local departments within the county submit their budgets in the fall of the prior year for which the budget is intended. The Auditor works with the Council to approve the local budgets, and then forwards them to the state for final approval. Budget certifications by the state usually happen within the first 3 months of the year.
